Happy New Year!  Just finished working on some new music this week with Smokey Robinson and David Garfield at Capitol Studio A.

It's been a great summer!  Keiko Matsui's album "Echo" is now #1 on the Billboard Charts! Also David Benoit's album "David Benoit And Friends" has moved up to the #13 spot on the charts and climbing!  I'm looking forward to a great 2020!

Today I begin mixing a new album for pianist David Benoit. I have had the pleasure working with David on many occasions, including the single "Caminando" with Marc Antoine which held 4 weeks at number one in the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart. You can have a listen here on my music samples page >>

Up Next: After I wrap up recording with Benoit in late June, I am thrilled to begin mixing a new project for the Swedish artist "Py Bäckman.” Stay Tuned!

Finished final mixes on second album of the "Out Of The Box" series titled "Jammin' Out Of The Box" by David Garfield featuring George Benson, Smokey Robinson, Michael McDonald, Kirk Whalum, Marcus Miller, David Sanborn, Bill Champlin, Ray Parker Jr, Oleta Adams, Phil Perry, Rick Braun, Kenya Hathaway, Eric Marienthal,  John Klemmer.

This month! I had the pleasure of recording and mixing a new single for the band Rufus, called “Ain’t Nobody”.  It’s a remake of the original recording with all the original band members: John JR Robinson, Hawk Wolinsky and Bobby Watson, with lead vocals by Chaka Khan's daughter, Milini Khan.

Finished mixing "We're In This Love Together: Celebrating Al Jarreau" a tribute album by the talented Chris Walker. This album will be released this May 17th: pre-order sales are available here.

The day after Xmas and back to work! Today, I began mixing an album tribute to Al Jarreau by his long time bassist, friend and background vocalist “Chris Walker.” Chris is a force to be reckoned with - an amazing singer and bass player!

Produced by Larry Williams and Chris this album features a tremendous cast of guests including Gerald Albright, Regina Bell, Randy Brecker, David Foster, Rick Braun, Will Downing, Nathan East, Bob James, Paul Jackson Jr, Dave Koz, Bobby Lyle, Marcus Miller, Greg Phillinganes, Arturo Sandoval, Mark Simmons, Kirk Whalum and Larry Williams.  

Began recording the new Keiko Matsui album “Echo” with a top notch rhythm section: Vinnie Colaiuta, Jimmy Johnson, Paul Jackson Jr., Tim Pierce, Randy Waldman, Luis Conte, Rico Belled, Jimmy Branly and JP Mourão.
 

This album features a wonderful cast of guest artists including Gretchen Parlato, Marcus Miller, Kyle Eastwood (Clint Eastwood’s son), Robben Ford and Kirk Whalum.
